Inpatient Psychiatry

The inpatient program is a 36-bed unit with Acute care beds and VIP beds. Services are provided by an interdisciplinary team that provides psychiatric treatment for individuals requiring a safe and therapeutic 24-hour environment. Treatment modalities include primary nursing, group activities, pharmacological treatments and individual therapy.

Includes:

  1. Assessment and identification of medical diagnosis and psycho-social stressors which impair the individual’s ability to function in the community.
  2. Identification and initiation of treatment and discharge planning.
  3. Assessment of initial response to treatment.
  4. Withdrawal and detoxification protocols for individuals with concurrent diagnosis of substance use and mental illness.
  5. Provision of care that reflects and incorporates bio psycho-social values and interventions.
  6. Coordination and facilitation of discharge linkages.

Psychiatric Emergency

Psychiatric Emergency Services provide crucial support to individuals facing acute mental health crises, ensuring that help is accessible round-the-clock. This vital service operates tirelessly, offering immediate assistance and intervention to those experiencing severe emotional distress, psychiatric crises, or contemplating self-harm or harm to others. Whether it’s a sudden onset of psychosis, overwhelming anxiety, or suicidal ideation, the 24-hour availability of psychiatric emergency care ensures that individuals in distress have a lifeline to reach out to at any time, day or night.

Includes:

  1. Psychiatric and medical evaluations
  2. Crisis intervention, assessment and stabilization
  3. Inpatient admission and referral to community resources
